- This article speaks to the fact that students in our K-12 schools represent the first generation to grow up with technology from the day they were born. They are Digital Natives. We (the adults) are the digital immigrants, not born into the world of technology. How are children different as a result?

This is a session that was presented on behalf of SoundTree at the MENC Music Technology Education Academy on June 20, 2009 at the Marriott Crystal Gateway Hotel & Conference Center. The session was titled "The Case for Music Technology" and featured three panelists: Stefani Langol from Berklee College of Music, Dr. Brian Moore from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Dr. Joe Pisano from Grove City College - discussing very real and important issues facing music educators today with regard to the onslaught of new technologies available to educators to use within the music classroom.
